& Covid-19 Protocols & Procedures

Monday - Friday

10:15am-10:30am closed for cleaning

12:00pm-5:00pm closed for cleaning

9:30am-9:45am closed for cleaning

Infants / Toddlers: $5.00 per visit
This charge is per visit whether or not you use the entire time slot.

No other children will be allowed in the nursery except for the ratio of kids that are reserved for that time slot.

•5 toddlers, 1 infant to two staff per shift. (Infants will remain in the infant room.)
•All staff will wear masks just as NH daycares do now. (Please wear a mask around your child so they are accustom to seeing a person with a mask to make them feel at ease.)
•All children will be screened before they are allowed to enter the nursery.  Any temp over 100.4 will not be able to stay.
•No walk ins will be allowed.  Reservations are required for the time slots listed above. Closed Sundays.
•No diaper changes.  We will come get you if the need arises.
•All toys are one time use and will be put into the washed bin for cleaning  before the next reserved time slot comes in.
•Common areas will be washed or sprayed with disinfectant between each reserved time slot.
•The floor will be washed between shifts in the afternoon and the rooms “fogged” with disinfectant every evening after closing.

We have missed all of you and look forward to caring for your little ones safely as we all navigate this new normal.

CAMP PONEMAH 2020 - Letter From Lauren Desmarais, Camp Director

Hello Camp Ponemah Families,

Since receiving the great news on Friday, May 29th that we are able to begin running our day camp on Monday, June 22nd with strict guidelines, we have been working hard planning and implementing new safety measures to keep our campers, staff and families safe. It is imperative that we not only give your child a fun summer but a safe one, following necessary guidelines. The logistics and details of it all will continue these next couple of weeks so we are sure to provide you with the same safe and fun camp experience you have had and can expect to have from us year after year.

We are very fortunate to have a large number of veteran staff returning to Camp Ponemah this summer. Many have worked at Camp Ponemah for multiple years, some as many as 6 years or more! These counselors are amazing leaders for our new staff to learn from and depend on. With their rigorous training schedule and commitment to our program I know we can and will exceed your expectations this summer.

With this summer comes change which are necessary and follow the state of NH Day Camp Guidelines, which you can find here on our website. We are shortening our day to 7:30am-5:00pm to follow state guidelines. Children will remain with the same staff in small groups throughout their day whenever possible. We are implementing smaller ratios for children to counselors, depending on their age and ability to understand social distancing. We will be minimizing contact between groups whenever possible by providing detailed schedules that cover our large outdoor campus. All staff and campers will be required to have a health screening prior to entering camp each day. Many hand hygiene and cleaning protocols have been added. These are just a few of our new changes. Please refer to the Camp page for more details and information.

For those of you whose children have attended Camp Ponemah previously or to those of you who are new to our program and chose our camp from what you have been told, we understand things will look different and be different, but know it is our intent to not change the feel of our camp. Our camp culture is based on the foundation of fun and friendship and not even our "new normal" can stop those two things.

Please know that as we navigate this "new normal", it is my hope during these unprecedented times that we can all practice patience, kindness and compassion with one another. I believe it goes without saying that our camp will look different this year, but I can assure you that we are determined to do this right! We appreciate all of you and your patience during these times.

I am looking forward to another exciting summer. This one is sure to be one for the books!

Thank you,

Lauren Desmarais

P.S. I am postponing all final camp balances until Friday, June 12th.
