Safety Training for Coaches
A program that provides the practical information swim coaches need to handle any emergency. It is a required certification for all USS coaches.
Full Course: Dec 28 & 30 - 6-9pm
First Aid: Dec 29
Refresher: Dec 13 & 15
Challenge: Jan 4
Lifeguard Training
Full Certification: A training program that makes it easy to learn the skills and techniques necessary to become an experienced member of a lifeguard team. Equipment based rescues; spinal injury management, post rescue care and many other topics are covered. The program provides Red Cross Lifeguard certification upon completion. CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid & AED certifications as well. Participants must be 15 years of age. 100% ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED.

"Crash Course": A condensed version of the previously described full certification. This ONE WEEK intensive course will only cover LIFEGUARDING information. Participants must attend the class with current certification in CPR, First Aid and AED.
This class will run very fast. Pre-requisites: Must be 15 at the start of class.
December 27 - 30 - 3pm - 9pm
December 31 - test make up - 9-12

Water Safety Instructor
A challenging Red Cross course that prepares students to teach the entire range of progressive swimming and safety training skills. Students do not have to be a certified lifeguard to take this course. Participants will be certified to teach WSI course for any swimming level. Participants must be 16 years of age.
Cost: $150 M / $190 NM
Course runs from 9:00AM-5:00PM. No absences permitted.
Participant must be at least 16 years of age on or before the final scheduled session of this course.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) is the Red Cross designation for a certified swimming teacher.
Designed to train instructors in techniques of teaching swimming strokes and related skills.
