Hampshire Hills proudly features four pools: a giant outdoor pool, indoor lap pool, indoor heated kidney pool, and wader pool as well as a twelve seater whirlpool.
The Hampshire Hills aquatic department offers a wide variety of aquatic instruction for all ages and levels. The club provides the finest aquatics instruction. Classes are offered year round and are led by American Red Cross Certified Instructors.
In addition to our many fine aquatic programs, Hampshire Hills also hosts the Seawolves, a USS Swim Team for members only.

We have reinvented our babies programs to offer new & exciting opportunities for that swimmer not quite ready for our Junior Swim Program. We are looking to create a well rounded swimmer by allowing parents to explore this aquatic adventure with the ones they love!
Water Babies – Splash n Play – Child is between the ages of 6weeks and 1yrs
Water Babies – Beginners – Child is at least 1yr old at the START of class
Water Babies – Intermediate – Child is at least 2yr old at the START of class, is independently swimming in a bubble, and has no fears of anxieties, ready to be without a parent in the water ( But parent involvement is still needed at the start of class)
Water Babies – Advanced – Child is at least 2yr and has successfully completed the Intermediate program
Learn To Swim Program - Juniors
There's something for everyone in the American Red Cross Junior Swim Program which includes five levels of instruction designed to help swimmers ages three years and up develop and refine their skills. Red Cross Water Safety Instructors teach a variety of strokes including the front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. Personal safety issues and diving techniques are also introduced.
Swim Lesson Levels
Level 1P1 - Child is at least 3yr old at the START of class, no previous experience required
Level 1P2 – Child is at least 3yr old at the START of class, child is very outgoing, face and body is comfortable in the water, child is independently swimming in a bubble. Child is ready to try any skill you ask and is jumping off the side of the pool comfortably on their own.
Level 2A – Child can jump from the side of the pool and swim to the other side of the Kidney Pool indepently with no floatation device. Child is very comfortable with diving board and can complete some sort of skill on their backs. Child has no apprehensions or fears of any sort.
Level 2B – Child is a SUPER strong dog paddler – (across the pool and back), comfortable in shallow end, deep end, no apprehensions, no fears, has some basic skills on Freestyle and Backstroke
Level 3+ - Child is a SUPER strong Freestyle and Backstroke – 25m in the Lap Pool, (uninterrupted and looks beautiful) end, deep end, no apprehensions, no fears. NEVER needs assistance.
Advanced Swimming
A swim program for junior's 8 years of age and older focusing on stroke development and aerobic conditioning in a non-competitive environment. Participants need to be beyond 3 & up swimmer. Mondays, 6:30pm, 45 minute class.
Home School - Learn to Swim Program
1/2 hour of lessons and a 1/2 hour of free swim. Class is broken up into Beginners (can not swim across the pool without help) and Advanced (able to swim across the pool without assistance)
Special Needs Aquatic Program
The Special Needs Aquatic Program is a unique class for children with various disabilities. The program provides an opportunity for the children to meet in small groups with their parents and two instructors. The lesson includes swimming instruction, relaxation techniques, games and musical activities for children. The buoyancy of the water can also work as an assist to physical movement or as resistance to develop strength.
Tuesdays, 4:30pm & 5:30pm. Wednesdays, 4:30pm.
Kids Kardio Splash
Our children's aquatic fitness program is geared for swimmers and non-swimmers, males and females. This exciting class uses upbeat music and games to improve agility, coordination, and speed while at the same time providing a great cardio workout. Kids Kardio Splash makes working out fun!

Adult Swim Lessons
Beginner: Participants need to be at least 16 years of age and have a willingness to learn. These lessons are for the adult beginner who is interested in learning how to swim or improve their current skills.
Advanced: Participant is familiar with the basics. This class will transform your beginner skills to lap pool swimming skills. Technique and form are stressed in this class
Fitness Swim Program: Do you love to swim but could use some instruction in a group environment? The purpose of this group is to create a team environment to help everyone stay motivated and improve stroke technique while getting a great workout. This one hour "swim practice" focuses on endurance training by swimming timed intervals. All abilities are welcome. Members Only.

Swim Team Group Descriptions
Mini Cubs:
Swimmers on the Mini Cubs Team have a basic understanding of Freestyle and Backstroke, and are able to complete a length of each in our 25 meter lap pool. During the season, swimmers on the Mini Cub Team will be developing their Freestyle and Backstroke further, and will be introduced to the other competitive strokes of Butterfly and Breaststroke. Other focuses in this group are proper lane etiquette, expectations on competition day, diving, and turns. This group will meet 2x/ week for 45 minutes per practice.
Mighty Wolves:
Swimmers on the Mighty Wolves Team have a strong understanding of Freestyle and Backstroke, and can demonstrate either Butterfly or Breaststroke. During the swim test each participant will have to complete a legal length of three out of the four competitive strokes and swim a 50 Freestyle in under 1 minute and 15 seconds in our 25 meter lap pool. During the season, swimmers on the Mighty Wolves Team will be developing all four competitive strokes further, and will be introduced to speed training, diving, and turns. Other focuses in this group are proper lane etiquette, expectations on competition day, understanding workouts, how to read the pace clock. This group will meet 2x/ week for 45 minutes per practice.
12&Under Age Group Swim Team:
Swimmers on our 12 & Under Team have a strong understanding of all four competitive strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly). During the swim test each participant will be asked to complete a legal length of all four competitive strokes and swim 50 Freestyle in under 1 minute. During the season, swimmers on the 12 & Under Team are working towards the goal of being a well rounded swimmer. We pride our swimmers in their willingness to try new events and distances, with the focus on being able to swim 100’s of stroke and the 200 Individual Medley. During the season we stress technique training over yardage. Other focuses in this group are speed training, proper starts and turns, understanding workouts, and reading the pace clock. This group will meet 2x/ week for 45 minutes per practice.
Junior & Senior Team:
Swimmers on our Junior & Senior Team have a strong understanding of all competitive strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly). This is open to any 13 & Over swimmer who is new or returning. All 11& 12 year olds are evaluated and put into the proper program based on the coaches’ decision & evaluations. During the season the Junior & Senior Team will be working toward the goal of being a well rounded swimmer. This team focus mainly on improving all competitive strokes in working into being able to swim 200’s of stroke & 400 Individual Medley. They will also work on proper starts and turns. They will also be working on reading & understanding workouts, reading clocks, and proper swimming terminology.
The Senior team will swim 3x per week at 90 minutes & 3x per week at 2 hours during the winter season (summer times will vary). This team is also for swimmers who have a commitment of achieving High School, Age Group/Open, Senior, or higher cuts as their goals for season. They will also need to have written down goals that will be discussed through out the season with coaches & should know their best times in all strokes & distance.
Based time sets: 10x 100 swim on 1:45 (or faster avg.) & 10x 100 kick on 2:00 (or faster avg.)
The Junior team will swim 6x per week at 90 minutes during the winter season (summer times will vary). This team is open to all 13& older swimmers new to a team. Their focus should be attaining High School and/or Age Group cut times. All 11& 12 year old selected for this group olds are evaluated and put into the proper program based on the coaches’ decision & evaluations with the previous goals that are stated. PRICING / SCHEDULE – SWIM SEASON Remainder 2012
* All new swimmers must be prepared to complete a swim test to enable proper placement prior to full registration.
* All 12yr old swimmers will be tested to see which grouping would be more acceptable.
* First oldest child is full price. Every family sibling after is 50% off.
* You must be members of Hampshire Hills Sports & Fitness Club to participate on the Seawolves Swim Team.

*A USS registration fee will be required for any swimmer that chooses to attend swim meets off of Hampshire Hills Campus.
This fee is liability coverage for you as we visit away meets. Fee for each child is a once a year registration at $60
*We do provide the first week of any session to new participants as a trial period. All refund requests are processed by the Aquatic’s Director and must be provided in writing. There are no refunds after the 2nd week of any session. Late session entries are permitted on the Over and Under Team. Fees for any weeks of the first half of the session are full price and 50% after the half way point.
*Method of payment is accepted by a scheduled draft by credit card or bank account. Draft will be set directly with Aquatics Director.

Coach ‘n Me Program
Are you looking to improve your strokes outside of normal practice?
Are you looking for some one-on-one help?
Are you a current member of the swim team?
CHECK THIS OUT!!
With the coaches help you get that “little” help your looking for. Weather it’s diving, perfecting strokes, flip turns, or anything else we can help you out. Get it contact with one of the coaches before or after practice to set up some time. We do ask to not ask in the beginning of the session/season as to all swimmers will be getting the “rust” out of their strokes. Finally you can also bring fellow team members to work on things if you find that you all need help with (up to four swimmers at a time).
PRICE:
Coach ‘n me: $20/ half hour lesson
Coach ‘n me & me: $25 ($12.50 person)
Coach ‘n me & me & me: $30 ($10.00 per person)
